Anticorrosive coatings for steel structures

PU anticorrosive coatings are paint systems applied to exposed metal structures to prevent corrosion over decades of exposure. Applied to metal bridges, transmission towers, airport and railway station structures, storage silos, industrial platforms, external tanks, and a wide range of industrial assets. The typical system is multi-layer: zinc-rich primer (galvanic protection), PU or epoxy intermediate coat (barrier), and aliphatic PU topcoat (UV protection and finish). The advantage of PU over alternatives such as epoxy is superior gloss and color retention under UV, and better topcoat performance. They compete with PVDF systems in premium architectural applications. This application is broader and more generic than Level A's "Industrial 2K PU coatings", which focuses on specific professional formulations.
