Engine and transmission mounts and bushings

Mounts and bushings (engine mounts, transmission mounts, subframe bushings) are elastomeric components that fix the engine-transmission assembly to the vehicle chassis, accommodating mechanical vibrations, torsional movements and shocks. Traditionally manufactured in vulcanized rubber with metal cores, cast PU mounts offer specific advantages in high-performance applications (sports vehicles, heavy commercial, agricultural): higher load capacity, better oil and hydrocarbon resistance (engine exposure to leaks), lower long-term creep, and more adjustable properties. In sports vehicles, PU mounts provide more direct response (less "lag" between acceleration and transfer to the chassis). In heavy commercial vehicles, superior durability reduces maintenance. Traditional disadvantage: transmits more vibration than rubber, requiring specific formulation to balance isolation with response.
