Drilling fluid hoses

Oil and gas drilling operations use dozens of specialty hoses to conduct critical fluids: drilling mud (a complex mixture of oil, water, bentonite, chemical additives), cement for well cementing, fracking fluids, stimulation oil, high-pressure hydraulic fluids. These hoses operate in severe conditions: pressures of 5,000 to 15,000 psi (345-1,034 bar), temperatures from −40°C to +120°C, continuous abrasion by solid particles in the fluid, aggressive hydrocarbon exposure, vibration and cyclic loads. TPU offers a critical combination for some of these applications: exceptional abrasion resistance (5-10 times superior to rubber), low-temperature flexibility (critical in operations in cold regions such as Canada, Russia, North Sea), chemical compatibility with many drilling fluids. Specialized market with high added value, sustained growth from continuous expansion of drilling in conventional and unconventional reserves (shale, pre-salt).
