Grain silo insulation

Grain silos (soy, corn, wheat, coffee, rice) are massive storage structures built in galvanized metal sheet, concrete or fiberglass. Thermal insulation is critical to preserve stored grain quality: daily thermal variation causes condensation inside the silo, which generates mold, undesired germination, insect infestation and quality loss. Insulation significantly reduces internal temperature variation — in Brazilian tropical climates, it is a critical differentiator. Typical applications: silos of cooperatives and large producers, silos of grain trading companies (Cargill, Bunge, ADM, Louis Dreyfus, Amaggi), silos in export ports. Externally applied PU spray foam is the dominant solution due to its ability to cover large areas quickly, adhere to metal sheet without extensive preparation, and create monolithic barrier without joints. Market in strong growth in Brazil, one of the largest global grain producers.
