Industrial cleaning has requirements much higher than domestic cleaning: food plants require extreme daily sanitization, hospitals require disinfection through continuous cycles, automotive industry uses sponges for parts washing before painting, industrial workshops clean grease and oil on mechanical parts. Industrial sponges are typically reticulated PU foam with density and hardness calibrated to use, frequently with specific additives or laminations. Professional market with specialty distributors (Rubbermaid, 3M, Chemours in the industrial segment) and specific brands for food-grade (with HACCP certification). Unit prices much higher than domestic sponges, volumes still significant in large industrial operations. Growth driven by food industry expansion, healthcare and by modernization of post-COVID sanitization protocols.
