Hydrocyclones and industrial screens

Complements Applications 28 (Mining abrasion-resistant linings) and B-58 (Ball mills), focusing on specific classification and separation equipment in industrial processes: hydrocyclones (centrifugal force separators used in granulometric classification, dewatering, density separation) and screens (static or vibratory equipment for size classification). These applications are common in mining (ore separation), pulp and paper (pulp cleaning), food and beverage (grain classification, process separation), water and effluent treatment (particle classification). PU is dominant technology in internal coatings of these parts due to abrasion resistance, capability to mold in complex geometries (hydrocyclone interior is conical), and repairability. Modular polyurethane screens (such as those produced by Multotec, Weir Minerals, Metso Outotec) replace traditional steel screens, offering 5-10x longer service life and significantly lower weight.
