Pultruded composites with PU matrix

What it is
Pultrusion is continuous manufacturing of fiber-matrix composite structural profiles. Reinforcement fibers (glass, carbon, basalt) are pulled in continuous bundle through a resin bath and heated mold where the resin cures forming a solid profile — unlimited lengths of the same profile.
Specialized PU matrices offer advantages over traditional polyester: line speed up to 3-5x higher, superior mechanical properties (fatigue, impact), better temperature performance (high Tg), lower VOC emission (PU doesn't emit styrene), better carbon fiber compatibility. Applications: structural profiles for construction (walkways in corrosive environments), electrical poles, wind turbine profiles, automotive profiles in advanced vehicles.
Why it matters
