What it is
In addition to automotive jounce bumpers (Application B-12), cast PU elastomers are used in broad industrial spring and damping applications: vibration isolators under heavy machinery (compressors, presses, milling equipment) — prevent vibration transmission to building structure; damping elements in transport systems (belts, conveyors, industrial slides); compression springs in valves, dispensers, industrial mechanisms; seismic isolators in buildings (smaller than bridge bearings of Application B-08 but similar in technology); dampers in agricultural equipment. Microcellular PU (Cellasto technology) is reference in applications with desired progressive compression curve — soft damping at start, stiff at end of stroke. Specialized market within the vast industrial component universe.

For manufacturing industry and chemical processes, industrial springs and dampers is a decision where continuous-operation failure cost is high.
