What it is
Containers, tanks and tank trucks for transport of food liquids (milk, juices, beer, wine, vegetable oils, potable water, food-grade chemical products) have specific internal coating to prevent product contamination by tank material, facilitate cleaning between loads, resist chemical attack by specific products, and maintain product specifications throughout transport. PU coatings compete with epoxy (historically dominant) in food-grade applications, offering advantages in flexibility (important in tanks suffering thermal and mechanical variation), abrasion resistance in rigorous CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) operations, and chemical resistance to specific products. Typical applications: ISO tank containers for sea and rail transport, milk tank trucks, storage tanks in small processing plants, dedicated containers for food logistics companies.
